Waking up to body pain is never a good sign. It makes us want to roll right back over and pretend the day hasn’t started! For those suffering from constant joint pain, this is a common occurrence and most of us will suffer from joint pain at one point or another. Fortunately, you don’t have to just live with it. Here’s how chiropractic care can help with joint pain.

HOW DOES CHIROPRACTIC CARE WORK?

If you’re like most people, you probably associate chiropractors with the neck and spine, right? While chiropractic adjustments do focus on eliminating restrictions in the vertebrae of the spine to alleviate pain and improve mobility, chiropractors also treat pain in the joints (among many other things!). Similar to how the spine is adjusted, the joints can also be relieved of tension to promote better and/or proper function. Chiropractic adjustments are effective, gentle, non-addictive treatments that have helped many of our patients find relief in as little as one visit.

WHAT JOINTS CAN BE TREATED?

If you are experiencing joint pain, you’re probably wondering if any joint can be adjusted. Well, it all depends. Some of the common requests we hear for adjustments are for the neck and back, but the knees, ankles, shoulders, elbows, and wrists can all be adjusted. Adjustments in these specific areas can improve mobility to the joints as well as provide pain relief.

Joint pain is common and you’ve probably experienced it at some point, so it may seem tempting to just suck it up and deal with it. But why suffer when treatment is available? Here at Shields Chiropractic, we are committed to providing excellent care to improve the health and wellness of the Saginaw, MI community. We use our joints for just about everything we do, so it’s important that we take great care of them!
